Pinakates – Kala Nera

The route Pinakates-Kala Nera starts from the central square of Pinakates, decorated with an impressive marble fountain. We descend via a very good cobbled path to the SW end of the settlement. The cobbled path bocomes narrower and leads to the Tzouvala torrent. We cross the riverbed with the help of a large concrete bridge.

We continue on a very well-preserved cobbled path, within high evergreen shrubs, dominated by oaks and junipers. We reach the asphalt (on our right hand, we can spot a threshing floor and to the left a fountain). After a few meters on a cement road we enter a good cobbled path, going downhill. We meet the asphalt twice. For a while, we follow the remaining parts of the cobbled path beside the asphalt road.

After a larger section of cobblestone path, we meet the asphalt again. We continue immediately on a cobbled path which a little further becomes a wide earth path. It leads us to an asphalt road on which we walk for 100 m and we enter a good cobbled path. We walk in this 1100 m, crossing the stone bridge the railway and we continue until we meet a dirt road, which brings us to the rural settlement of Ogla.

After 150m. on a dirt road, we enter a cobbled path again. We pass by the church of the Isodia tis Theotokou (Assumption of the Virgin). We continue on a cobbled path, we cross a dirt road, then we continue on a narrower cobbled path that in places is covered with earth and we reach the main asphalt road. Directly opposite us, a small path brings us to the urban street network of Kala Nera. Soon, we identify the old cobbled path, which has been preserved between the houses and leads us to the beach.

The route is waymarked with red signs, some yellow signs on metal poles and a few direction signs.
