Milies – Labinou

The Milies – Labinou trail follows the old connection between the isolated Labinou and Milies, a settlement that, taking advantage of the operation of the small railway network, acquired the role of a local transport center. The path is no longer used and so in places it has accessibility problems due to the rapid growth of vegetation.

The Milies – Labinou trail starts from the square of the village of Milies and moves smoothly uphill on a cobbled path. Then it goes out on a dirt road, continuing the slightly uphill course, among high macchia vegetation (laurels, arbutus, holly, heather). In the upper part of the route there is a wooden kiosk, where the path changes direction to the NW. The first section, although relatively clear, is closed by shrubby vegetation.

Gradually the vegetation becomes wooded with tall arbutus and arias and the path continues for a long distance between the trees, which in places have begun begin to close the route. Leaving this section, there is an extensive cluster of chestnut trees and a dirt road that leads to the chapel of Agios Georgios and then to the village of Labinou.
