Lafkos – Milina

The hiking route Lafkos – Milina follows the southernmost pathway among the two cobbled ones, which were built in order to connect the main village of Lafkos with the old port of Milina.
Today, Milina is a popular destination during the summer months, where the traveller has many choices on accommodation and fine local taverns.
Regarding the two axes of the cobbled streets, both the northern and the southern were equally used in the past and remain well-maintained and established.
The trail described here consists tte least well maintained of the two.

Tips

  • The most interesting part of this downhill hike, from an aesthetic perspective, is arguably the spectacular view to Pagasetic Gulf and Milina.

Warnings

  • The trail is well established with some clearly defined changes in the direction. We follow the round signs on the trees put by Friends of the Kalderimi of South Pelion, a non-profit organization, and some scattered red marks.
