Chorto – Metochi

Regarding the trail on the eastern side, it starts from the village of Metochi and in the beginning it follows the concrete alleys inside the settlement. At the end of this concrete road, which is a bit lower of the main road, we find a short but beautiful cobbled path, going downhill towards the ravine. Although the stream is usually dry, we can use the bridge to access the other bank. There, we’ll take an alley which leads us to a wider dirt road between the olive groves. Above us we can see a well-preserved chapel dedicated to the Dormition of the Virgin (Panagia).

Then, we walk downhill, following a dirt road for 140m until we find an alley which goes right. We follow it along the ravine. After walking all along the ravine, we soon find ourselves in the heart of an olive grove area with dense vegetation.

Very soon, we pass next to the cemetery of Chorto and the church of Agios Nikolaos. Then we arrive at the houses which are located at the highest part of the village. At this point we find and follow the concrete road which goes parallel to the main stream. Now we cross the main asphalt road and we end our route on the beach, where we see a fountain and an overpass.

There are only very few scattered marks along this route.
