Agios Georgios – Exagathia Refuge

The route Agios Georgios – Exagathia Refuge is the western part of a large course that crosses Mt Pelion from a zone of relatively low altitudes and connects Agios Georgios with Tsagarada.

The route from Agios Georgios to Exagathia Refuge starts from the center of Agios Georgios. With a good path we reach the ridge Paliovigla, a place with an open view throughout western Pelion.

Next is a long section on a dirt road (2.1 km) to the small refuge of Exagathia. The building is open and provides basic accommodation services (beds on the perimeter bank inside, a fireplace and minimal furniture). There is no water.
